Double

This is like the first time I wrote a song every night for 1 whole week... I've been sleeping at 3am every night recently, and late for class every morning, but I COMPLETED the song!

I had originally wanted to leave the song just like it was in the last post, but I saw this article a few days after I posted the previous Double; It said that it's better to have 5 completed songs compared to 10 unfinished ones, which got me thinking. I must say, this article came at the right time =)

BUT, the song itself has no point. As in musically no point... So if you manage to survive the song till the last second then WOOTZ

*** I did learn from it though, so it's not a total waste ***

Double: New Song #5

Double

Well it's not really a song... I sort of gave up on continuing it. And I feel like it sounds abit funny, starting from the chorus.

Well the idea is from trying to make a 'total acoustic' song, with piano and acoustic guitar. But somehow, it became a high song instead of a melodicious song. Is there such a word? Never mind.

Added Bass for Try and Kan Jian Ni. Not really sure of the final volume of it, so if you can't hear it then uhh, I'll try to edit it.

Still trying to write a song called Double, but got stuck. z.

Anyway, the files are updated.

UPDATE

Updated the MP3 files for all 3 songs. Balanced the songs and tweaked abit here and there, but a few beats got cut off during the conversion, e.g. 03's 3:55 second.

Update: Fixed those cut off-ed sounds.

I've updated the sound files. Now the vocal timbre is higher to make the whole thing sound better, but the pitch isn't really that high. Tune it down 1 octave and you have the original one. I can't find an instrument that goes well with the song using the original pitch, so I tuned it up, making it sound more decent.

The ending problem is also fixed; I simply added one more note at the end of the song, and the problem is solved! But I think the last note somehow spoils the song. =)

Try(Temp Name): New Song #4

Well, its kept like that as I'm still stuck at the lyrics, after such a long time... I've decided to move on though, and only write them when the inspiration comes.

Its 1 of my favorites, along with Kan Jian Ni. These 2 songs are like the second level of my writings to me.

Anyways, although the music is up, there are still some unsolved issues. I still cant find a suitable timbre to represent the vocal sound. Well, see how it goes.

There's also the problem at the ending; the MIDI file ends nicely, but the MP3 file got cut off. I'll see what I can do...

At around the 10th-11th second, the piano is supposed to go up 1 octave. However, Guitar Pro, the software I'm using, cant get its pitch there. So I settled for a lower pitch... If I get to record a song one day, I'll fix that. But thats going to be long; I'll have to clear the previous 3 songs first!

Update: All current problems are fixed.

When I See You

My 3rd completed song. I feel that this song brought me to another "stage", and made me 'feel' the songs better (?). And its 1 of my favorite works so far. =)

I got the idea from 2 songs: Lian Ai ING and Qing Fei De Yi. Both of these songs used a standard 8-chord which is also found in many other songs, so I was like, lets do a standard 8-chord song.

Some stuffs I learnt from it:
- I figured out better ways to use synthesizers =)
- Learnt an alternate song arrangment? I'm not sure about this. z

Wanna Give You A Punch

First idea I came out with, but was the second completed demo. Fierce lyrics =) And Obviously it was formed from negative feelings.

The lyrics are there, but no vocal timbre since I don't know how to throw it in. So use your imagination!

Some stuffs I learnt from it
- Rushing a song is not good. I mean, I learnt it the hard way.
- Dont overuse bass.

And yeah, the bass is quite wrong, I admit. z.

The overdrive rhythm guitar as well. Sounds a bit irritating? Hahaz.
